Help for
the Hurting

Helping those who are hurting can be an overwhelming task. Educating ourselves on issues is so important. Learn what to say and do, and what not to say and do. When we consider helping someone, it is vital to 'do no harm' with our well-intentioned words, scripture passages, and stories. We NEVER know the complete stories and experiences that other women have walked. To apply our faith, our beliefs, and our biases to their lives is a dangerous hurtful practice.

Learn to tell when a person needs professional help and have resources available to refer.

The NYCARES section of this website includes a lot of resources and information, as does the Help For The Hurting Resource Pages. (click on titles to be taken to those pages)
